Mensline Australia Telegroups
When disciplining a child, remember that the problem is the behaviour and not the child themselves. Try saying, "That's your outside voice. Can you use your inside voice in here?" not "Why can't you be quiet?"

Fathers have a significant impact on a child's self-esteem, emotional wellbeing, and capacity to love and be loved, yet 68% of father's feel they don't spend enough time with their children. (Dept. of Family and Community Services, 1999).

What often prevents men becoming more involved as fathers are perceptions such as: ‘There's no support from other guys’, or ‘I don't have any parenting abilities’.

MLA Telegroups* get men talking to each other about fatherhood, parenting and relationships via teleconferencing. Telegroups draw men together from all over Australia to support each other and learn valuable skills in an enjoyable and male friendly environment.

* Eligibility criteria: MLA Telegroups are for men with children, either separated or in a relationship. Telegroups involve a 90 min session each week for three consecutive weeks. Special interest groups TBA.
