Bushfire EAR - Emergency Aftermath Rebuild

Bushfire EAR is MensLine Australia's specialised counselling and referral service for people affected by the February 2009 bushfires. EAR can be contacted through the normal MensLine Australia service number (1300 78 99 78).

How Bushfire EAR can help you in regards to the Bushfire aftermath

• Provides immediate counselling when you need it, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and also has an option of a Call Back Service to provide you with on-going support.
• We will speak to men and women about any issues related to the Victorian bushfires.
• It’s anonymous and confidential.
• Professional staff will answer your call.

What is the Bushfire EAR Call Back Service?

• We can provide up to six calls from the same counsellor over a period of 6 months.
• It’s a free service.
• We call you back at a time that is convenient to you, from 10am to 10pm.

Who is eligible for the Bushfire EAR Call Back Service?

• Men and women directly affected by the bushfire 15 years and over.
• Families and friends of those directly affected.
• Emergency service workers and volunteers

How do I register for the Bushfire EAR Call Back Service?

• Contact Bushfire EAR on 1300 78 99 78.
• Follow the menu option to be put through to an intake counsellor for the Bushfire EAR.
• The intake counsellor will record your details and listen to your requirements and explain Bushfire EAR.
• A Call Back counsellor will contact you within 72 hours.
